Hi there,

I'm part of the staff that is working with you on this course, "A New Nation: Independence Through the Constitution".  As a former elementary school librarian I will be sharing books, websites and other items that relate to this period in history that you may wish to use in your classroom.  I love this opportunity to find the very best resources for you.  It is my hope that you will share some of your favorites with me, as well.

I have been retired for eight years.  How can that be?  I worked most of my professional life at the Central Columbia Elementary School, overseeing the library and two computer labs.  Since that time I have been active as a board member for the Bloomsburg Public Library and Friends of the Library and involved with fund raising efforts for the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble.

On a more personal note my husband and I have taken some wonderful trips these past few years.  Most recently we took our two twelve year old granddaughters on a Road Scholar intergenerational trip to Sicily and Italy where we studied volcanoes.  We hope we have the stamina to do something similar with our five year old grandson when he reaches that age.  Our sixteen year old grandson has fond memories of the "Harry Potter" intergenerational trip we took to Oxford when he was younger.  Our families are not that far away (Bloomsburg and Ithaca, NY) for which we are thankful.
